christmas giving

we have been inundated with requests for donations for many worthwhile causes. and while we have a budget for this type of donation, at christmas we like to do a little more.One  wonderful organization that allows you to change someone's life for as little as $20.00 is Heifer .org  You might have heard it talked about on Oprah. $20.00 will buy you a gaggle of geese or chicks or ducks and $30.00 will get you honey bees. this orgaization's philosophy is to help a family help themselves by allowing them to provide for their families, buy school supplies for their children and just basically pull them out of poverty. This small amount can change someone's life forever. I love it! a few years ago we received an unexpected windfall and so decided to share. we decided my husband  and Iwhat our favorite charities were and i must say it was such a thrill to be able to go shopping for more than just one  family. I cannot begin to tell you how happy it made me feel  that we were able to help several families get out of despair. With a goat here, some chicks, rabbits etc. so if you are so inclined this year and have only a small amount of money to spare, this is a truly worthwhile cause. check  it out for yourself at http://www.heifer.org/  you will never feel the same again, merry christmas!
