a few months ago when the crochet bug rehit, you all know that between scrapbooking and cross stitch and whatever it is you do for fun a type of boredom  with the project sets in and you want somehthing new but fast, something just for you to enjoy finishing under an hour. I found that dish cloths fit the bill not dish towels, the wash cloths for dishes I also found that they wash much better than anything on the market right now. In order to get the performance you need it needs to be cotton yarn and not acrylic. Why crochet wash cloths? Because they are fun, fast, pretty, make cute little side gifts and its handmade. Back when I was a little girl, is a class mate wore a handmade dress she was deemed very poor.  Have you seen the price of supplies. Making it yourself used to be so much cheaper. Not so anymore, a vogue pattern can cost up to $50 or more dollars, then you have to cut it all out and we know about Vogue patterns don't  we? Even though I never sewed myself, my Mom did and I  gleened all this information from her. So handmade is good, someone took the time to make something for you, they went to the store, they picked they pondered what supplies and color to get  and then they took the time to  make it.
You've heard that the Kennedys make each other gifts the gifts that they give easch other  at Christmas. Yep, money is no object for them but then it is also meaningless to them, they can afford to get just about anything. So out come the creative talents, whether they can write a  poem, make a shawl, I don't know what other talents they have but as far as I know they are still doing it, of course I am not privy to their goings on except for what Maria tells me!

buy some hooks
buy some yarn. wrap everything together with pretty grosgrain ribbon
write out the instructions on pretty dollar store notebook.
give to your niece or a favorite little girl or other person
with a promise to show her how to crochet as part of the gift!
